Beer sommeliers who wanted to bring life to the brewery.
A PASSION FOR BEER GREW INTO A COMPANY
Our entrepreneurial story started as three young wolves in 2016, who wanted to put the local beer culture into the spotlight by using a webshop. Enthusiasm, courage and a good dose of perseverance have brought us to what we are today:
A model for growth to aid local brewers in terms of sales, marketing and production.
Founder & General management
As a teenager I brewed my own beer. The entrepreneurial passion for beer were clearly already inside of me! I encountered problems that local brewers encounter every day, and wanted to solve them. A few years later I started BeerSelect ...
Founder - Sales & Marketing
With family in Poperinge, the city of Belgian hops, I have always had an interest in the Belgian beer culture. The difference between the big commercial breweries and us? We want you to taste the passion of the local brewer. In every sip.
Founder & Operations
As a beer connoisseur I like to get to know new beers everywhere. However, in 2019 there are so many beers that it becomes difficult for consumers to choose. A quality label like ours makes it handy for the enthusiast!
From 2016 to now
BeerSelect founded in 2016
Launch of BeerSelect at the Ghent trade fair. BeerSelect was then a webshop for beer packages.
Export model development
Closure of webshop due to problems with scalability. Rebranding BeerSelect and development of export model.
Financing round: € 900,000
Collected through the accelerator program The Birdhouse.
Ghent's largest brewery
With this brewery we want to translate the original recipes from our selection into a larger volume.
From our brewers
Brewing beer grew from a hobby to a dream. I think it’s fantastic to be able to stand with BeerSelect at trade shows in China, Italy, Finland and Hong Kong!
I have known BeerSelect since they shared our beers with their webshop in 2016. Their perseverance and enthusiasm is never stopping!
We mainly sold locally – in Gijzenzele – the village where our beer originated. I never expected to sell the Gijzelaarke in China!
